On September 8-12th, PACA students and teachers left their second through eighth periods and gathered in the breeze-way to get ready for their annual school pictures for picture day. Students stood with their classmates for roughly 15-20 minutes lined up to take their photos.

The Planning and Preparation leading up to picture day was stressful for Freshman Annabelle Harper.

“For me, picture day was very stressful,” said Harper, “because it’s all about trying to look decent in a picture that people will look back on and not for them to think, ‘Oh, she looks weird’ but instead remember and think of the good things.”

When asked about changes from previous years, Harper gave an insight about the good and bad things.

“In seventh grade we took our pictures in the auditorium but in 8th and now 9th grade we are taking photos in the breezeway,” Harper said, “I believe that it is much more effective.”

Annabelle’s preparation has changed over the years. She has a different way to get ready this year from her other years.

“This year something which I haven’t done any other years was,” said Harper. ‘I wore makeup for picture day which I think helped me get and feel ready.”

PACA students have always felt some stress and excitement for getting ready and taking their school pictures.

For many students picture day is all about getting ready, looking good, and having a good picture to look back on for the rest of their lives. While other students view it as another day in the school year to get on with.

This year, Shelly LeRoux, has been involved in getting school pictures completed this semester. This is her first time helping with this, because she has recently arrived in Brazil to work at PACA. She said that the pictures will be available soon.

This week, on September 24, a letter was sent home to all the families from the “School Picture” company” with these details:
